This beautiful young lady is Elsie Tivey who was born in Melbourne, Derbyshire in 1893.

She was the daughter of Rose Richardson and Thomas Tivey, a provisions and coal dealer.

Elsie married John Wardle in 1921 and has one daughter Joan who has kindly donated these lovely pictures of her mother to the site; Elsie and her husband John were buried at Melbourne's Packhorse Road, Cemetery - their monument reads - In loving memory of John Wardle, at rest 4th April 1954 aged 64, also of Elsie Wardle, his wife, at rest 9th Sept 1949, aged 56 years;
