This photo was taken in the 1920's and features John Tivey who was born 1897 in Carlton, Nottinghamshire.

He was the son of Walter Tivey and Frances Kemp and was a member of the Royal Life Guards. He kept guard  on horseback at the rear of King George and Queen Mary's carriage.
