This photo was taken around 1898 and features Alice Tivey and her husband Richard Astle with 8 of their 9 children, Jane, Mary, Richard, Kate, Sarah Ann, Alice Margery, Harry Claude and Elsie May, their eldest son John was probably the photographer!

Alice was the daughter of Henry Tivey (1836-1914) and Jane Crooks (1840-1920).

This photo was taken in Melbourne, Derbyshire and was kindly donated by Susan Potts, Many thanks Sue for taking the trouble to send me this photo through the post.
