She was born Isabella Robe 1894 in Port Campbell, Victoria, Australia and was the daughter of Henry Josiah Robe and Elizabeth Simpson Rowan.
Her husband was born in Melbourne, Derbyshire 1890 the son of Sidney Tivey and Charlotte Cooper. He emigrated to Australia in 1922 on the ship Ballarat.
Isabella died in Colac, Victoria in 1951, sadly the couple did not have children. She was known as Bella.
