This romantic couple are Laurance Tivey and his bride to be Edith Cook.

Laurance was born 22 January 1913 at Melbourne. Most of his working life was at Stanton Ironworks which was part of Stewarts & Lloyds. He became sales office manager. Physically average at 5’10’’, an excellent sportsman up to county standard in football and cricket, and also bowls in later life.
Laurance saw action in the Royal Navy in WWII and amongst other duties took part in  Russian convoys, ‘D’ Day Landings and retrieving bodies from Slapton Sands Fiasco.
