It features Mary Tivey and her husband Aaron Bonser Ball.
She was born 03 January 1879 in Carlton Nottinghamshire. At the age of 2 her mother Tryphena Taylor died and Mary lived with a foster family for a while as her father Isaac Tivey (1849-1910) was a travelling cloth salesman. He later remarried and Mary spent a short time with her father & new step mother Alice Bone (1864-1926) in Portsmouth Hampshire. But Mary never settled there and she went back home to Carlton to stay with her Aunt Lois Stevenson (nee Tivey) and her uncle Enoch Stevenson.
In 1902 Mary married Aaron Bonder Ball (1879-1942), he was the son of Markam Ball and Eliza Bonser.
Mary emigrated on the ship Victorian (Allan Line Steamship Co) from Liverpool Lancashire on 29 September 1910, along with her two daughters Winifred Lois and Irene Grace. She arrived in Montreal in October to join her husband Aaron who had left to look for work in March 1910. He got a job as a Clerk in Comox, Vancouver and sent for his family to join him some months later.
