This fine young chap washes behind his ears!

He is Reginald Tivey (1896-1977) and this picture was taken at Watford Barracks in 1915.

Though he was the son of shoemaker Samuel Tivey (1870-1947) he was brought up in the household of the Singleton family in Melbourne.

He joined the Sherwood Forresters in 1914 and fought in France. He was injured at one point (see inset) but recovered and returned to England.
