
Amongst many other sporting accolades, he was a tennis champion at Bedford Lawn Tennis Club in Bradgate Road, Bedord. He represented the county at tennis from 1925 to 1932 and also played badminton
Despite being injured in WWI he was a great sportsman and played at amateur level for Luton Town Football Club.
He was the son of Samuel Tivey (1870-1947), a cobbler by trade.
