Ruby was born 18 April 1879 along with her twin sister Pearl, in Kybean near Nimmitabel NSW, Australia. She belongs to group 3 but no information was known about her at the time the Tivey Book was published.
Her father was Alfred Tivey who along with his parents Samuel and Phebe (Wild) emigrated to Australia in 1848.
