Two Tivey's, believed to have been born in Melbourne, settled in Shepshed, Leics, in the early 19th century. It is almost certain that they were brothers. There is no clue whatsoever as to the identity of their parents.

It is thought that the above comprised the entire family of William and Elizabeth, but a descendant mentions a Lisa who married a Henry and settled in the USA. It is just possible that Lisa was a grand-daughter of William and Elizabeth born 1848/9, probably the daughter of Jane, there was an Elizabeth aged 2 shown with the family in 1851, but there is no later record of her.
There is no record of the birth of Sydney, but he was described as an infant at death.
