The Parish Register entry for the burial of George Tivey states that he was “killed by a fall in the belfry, being taken up by the rope as he was ringing. He languished about 30 hours after the accident. N.B. He was in liquor”

It is not possible to identify the children of Edward and Mary but it is likely that they included the following

Edward            1776/7,        Melbourne                    ?                                              1809   Melbourne

Thomas            about 1780,  Melbourne           see Group 2

William                                                            probably the one in Group 4 but could be in Group 7

John                 1790/1,  Melbourne                 see Group 6

Joseph              1794,  Melbourne                    see Group 10

It is also remotely possible that George – see Group 5 – was part of this family. There were most certainly some daughters as well, one of which was probably Hannah, who married John Berrisford ( or Beresford) on 16th May 1808 in Melbourne.

3A  Thomas Tivey        b.  1769,  Melbourne    d.  1795,  Melbourne

       Not known whether married

3C(1)  Edward Tivey    b.  1776/7                    d.  1809,  Melbourne

Not known whether married, but might well have been the father of Thomas – see                  Group 9

This Edward was probably the eldest son of Edward and Mary (2C) but this is not    certain.

For other possible children of Edward and Mary and children, if any, of Thomas (2B), Thomas (3A) and Edward see the various Groups of Section II.
